“Great location, wonderful staff”
We stayed for six nights in the spotted leopard room. All room have fun names. Staff was warm and helpful, massage on site was clean professional and convenient, breakfast each morning was ample and tasty with a choice of Nepalese or Western fare. Beds was soft and cozy, big room with refrig and desk and hot shower including a big bathtub. Thamel neighborhood is fun and lively as well as safe. We loved Nepal and staying at the Royal Penguin!

“Amazing staff”
We stayed 2 nights in the hotel and were positively surprised with the quality. Staff was excellent and made our stay very easy. Amenities are also good. Breakfast is ala cartel and really good. Free wifi available. There were several electricity cuts and even during them hotel managed to provide power for essential needs. Hats off to ones who made our stay a joy.

“Fantastic”
The hotel is very nice decorated and so are the rooms. They are big and clean, with surprising blue lights. Big bathroom. The spa is good and I could make use of the facilities of Penguin 1 where is the fitness. Food is also good. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended!

“Worth the bit of extra cost for this hotel!”
Such a comfortable stay, and an oasis from the sometimes frenetic city streets! Stayed here at both ends of my travels in Nepal. After having stayed in 5 other hotels during my travels in Nepal, I really appreciated the extra level of cleanliness and comfort here. Deluxe king room is very comfortable. Bathroom is modern and large with lots of counter space, waterfall shower. Coffee and tea in the room. Service is so prompt and friendly, from front desk, to restaurant, to any other staff you encounter. They are very good at accommodating extra requests, late checkouts (small charge). Food at the restaurant is very good/excellent. 24 hour room service. Amazing breakfast options included. Wifi can be a bit slow at times, but seems to be like that everywhere.
